bathroom updates on a budget

Have you been wanting to update your bathroom for weeks, months or maybe even years but don’t know where to start? Do you feel like you don’t have enough funds coming in to do anything, much less to make your bathroom look more up to date?

Maybe you just bought and moved into your new house and it is definitely a fixer upper?

Well, you came to the right place! Today I want to show you in this post that it doesn’t have to be expensive to make your bathroom look more up to date. Just change out a few little things and your bathroom is sure to look fabulous! 🙂

6 Easy Bathroom Updates:

Faucet

The first thing that you should update as soon as you can, is your faucet.

By updating your old outdated faucet to a new faucet is a sure way to make your bathroom look more up to date.

When my husband and I first moved into our home, this was the very first thing that we changed out. Here’s a pic of our new faucet below!

It’s truly amazing just how changing out an old shorter standard faucet, out to a tall swivel faucet can make your bathroom look more up to date, and may I say, fancier. 😉

Install Shelves

Installing shelves is another great way to make your bathroom look updated.

Try installing shelving that you love and that will work best for your bathroom! Do you love floating shelves, corner shelves, or over the toilet shelves?

Here’s a picture of my floating shelves that my husband and I made! 🙂

Pick the shelving that will work best in your bathroom and have fun with it!

New Curtains

Curtains play a huge role when it comes to making your space feel more up to date.

If you don’t have windows in your bathroom, then I would update your shower curtain instead. Doing this will give your bathroom a new and bright feel.

If you have a window in your bathroom, then updating both your shower curtain and window curtain would be great! Just make sure they both have the same color scheme. That way everything ties together nicely. 🙂

Update Linens

This is a simple step, I know! But by replacing your old linens with new linens, works like a charm. Again, just make sure your new linens will match the color scheme you chose with your new curtains.

Lighting

Lighting is another thing that can make your bathroom look outdated. You know that artificial lighting look, dim lighting and such. Updating your old light bulbs is one of the things that you can and should update in your new home as soon as possible.

Whether they are dim, burnt out, or lighting just is not that great, replace them with a softer white light to give your bathroom a more natural look.

Paint

Updating your space with paint is another option that is a great choice.

Painting your walls and baseboards with a new paint color will give it a fresh, new and inspiring feel.

Especially if your bathroom is painted a color that you absolutely do not love.
